Inclusion Statement
Apex Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department (APRCR) believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to participate in quality recreation opportunities, explore their interests, and build connections in the community. We are committed to fostering an environment that is welcoming, accessible, and inclusive for individuals of all abilities, backgrounds, and identities. APRCR makes every effort to ensure inclusive opportunities in all programs, services, activities, facilities, and events.
ADA Statement
Apex Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department (APRCR) is committed to providing accessible programs, services, and facilities in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We strive to ensure that individuals of all abilities have equal opportunities to participate in and enjoy our offerings. We provide reasonable modifications to support the needs of participants with disabilities. If you or a family member require assistance, auxiliary aids, or program modifications, please notify staff at the time of registration or at least 2 weeks prior to the program start date, when possible.
What is a Reasonable ADA Modification?
Reasonable modifications are resources used to help a person with a disability to participate in any program. Resources may include, but are not limited to, auxiliary aids or services, adaptive equipment, additional staff training, and/or additional staff. Modifications cannot fundamentally alter a program.
To request an accommodation or for more information about our inclusion process, please email Emily.Saunders@apexnc.org.
Accommodation requests should be received at least two weeks before the program start date. When requesting an accommodation, please specify the participant's name, program name, program start date, and your request.

Medical Forms
Some participants, particularly those under the age of 18 or with disabilities, might require assistance in managing medical conditions while at a program. If a participant may require assistance with medication administration while at camp, they are required to complete the Assisted Administration of Medication form. This form does not require a physician signature and is valid for one year. Medical Management Plans (MMPs) provide additional information and are requested for the following conditions: heart, diabetes, epilepsy, and GI tubes. Please contact Emily.Saunders@apexnc.org for more information about MMPs. APRCR Staff are not responsible for any invasive treatment other than assisting with epinephrine and inhalers.
