Where to take used oil, paint and other household hazardous items
You can safely dispose of household hazardous waste at the South Wake Household Hazardous Waste Facility, located at 6150 Old Smithfield Road, open Monday - Saturday, 8 am - 4 pm. Accepted items include:
- Oil-based paint, latex paint, mineral spirits, and paint thinners
- Household batteries, lead acid batteries, and rechargeable batteries
- Helium tanks, aerosols, and corrosive cleaners
- and much more!
