The Research Triangle region continues to flourish and grow all due to the constant innovation of each business and industry within the region. The Research Triangle Regional Partnership is a business-driven, public-private partnership dedicated to keeping the Research Triangle Region economically competitive through business, government, and educational collaboration. RTRP comprises economic development agencies across the region, who work with the N.C. Department of Commerce, the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, and a wide range of partners to market the region for new investment and direct strategic efforts to ensure the region remains economically competitive.
Research Triangle Park (RTP)
The Research Triangle Park is one of the most prominent high-tech research and development centers in the United States. It was created in 1959 by state and local governments, nearby universities, and local business interests. The park covers 7,000 acres situated in a pine forest with over 22 million square feet of built space. The park is traversed by Interstate 40, the Durham Freeway, and Interstate 540. It is managed by the Research Triangle Foundation, a private non-profit organization.
