Financial Assistance

Many programs are available through the Town of Apex, Wake County, the State of North Carolina, and other partners to help those having trouble with rent, utility, or even medical bill payments. 

Town of Apex Customer Utility Assistance Program (UCAP)

The Town of Apex has created a program that set aside approximately $500,000 to assist customers who are subject to disconnection.

About the Program

  • Customers may receive up to $636 in assistance, or their total outstanding balance (whichever is less).
  • The program is available to residential customers who live within the Apex town limits.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be a Town of Apex residential utility customer
  • The service address must be inside the corporate limits of Apex
  • Applicant must be a US citizen
  • Applicant must show proof they live at the service address (picture ID)
  • Utility bill(s) must be subject to disconnection
  • Total household income must be less than or equal to the chart below based on the total number of people living in the home.

NC 211 is an information and referral service provided by United Way of North Carolina. Families and individuals can dial 2-1-1 or 1-888-892-1162 to obtain free and confidential information on health and human services and resources within their community.
