Final Open House - Southwest Wake Study

Drop by the final open house for the Southwest Area Study on April 23rd, between 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, at Holly Springs Cultural Center (300 W Ballentine Street, Holly Springs). This is an opportunity to review and provide comments on transportation recommendations in this regional study led by the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization. Draft recommendations include:

  • Corridor improvements to NC 55/E Williams Street between US 1 and Technology Drive
  • Corridor improvements to New Hill Olive Chapel Road/New Hill Holleman Road and potential designation of this corridor as NC 751
  • Potential grade-separated crossings of the railroad adjacent to Old US 1 Highway, S. Salem Street, and N. Salem Street at the following intersections:
    • New Hill Olive Chapel Road/New Hill Holleman Road
    • Future Richardson Road Extension
    • Friendship Road
    • Future collector street between NC 540 and Apex Barbecue Road
    • Laura Duncan Road (near Old Apex Road)
