BACKGROUND:

Apex commuters can expect delays from January 26-29 as CSX repairs the road crossing surface and rail at the following crossings (note: Hunter Street will no longer be closed):

- Tingen Road
- Chatham Street
- Center Street

Crews working on behalf of CSX will close these intersections for one or more days in order to complete their repairs. The closings extend into Cary crossings as well, at Old Apex Road, Laura Duncan Road, High House Road, and Southwest Maynard Road.

The Town of Apex recognizes the negative impact that these closures will have on traffic, especially during rush hour. Since receiving notice today that the work would begin tomorrow, we have requested that CSX work to reopen each crossing as quickly as possible and minimize the number of simultaneous closings.

Please plan your travel times and routes accordingly to avoid delays.

Questions and concerns can be directed to:

CSX: John Dillard, (803) 748-1280
Southern Commercial Development (Contractor for CSX): Jared Timms, (803) 606-9963 or Angela Nelis, (803) 808-3600
