Western Wake Partnership

A group of six Wake County local governments worked together from May 2002 to July 2004 to evaluate options for providing long-term wastewater management services for western Wake County. As a result of the evaluation, three local governments (Apex, Cary and Morrisville) elected to proceed with the construction of regional wastewater management facilities to serve the needs of western Wake County to the year 2030.

Apex, Cary and Morrisville jointly built sewer lines and pump stations to convey wastewater to this new water reclamation facility along with discharge facilities to convey the highly treated effluent to the Cape Fear River below Buckhorn Dam.
