Special Olympics

Annual Events
The Apex Police Department supports the Special Olympics with several annual events:

Torch Run

Each June, the APD participates in the Law Enforcement Torch Run. Officers and citizens run a 4-5 mile leg of a 2,000 mile journey that the Flame of Hope takes across the state of North Carolina. The Torch Run raises money for the 38,000 athletes that participate in North Carolina Special Olympics. T-shirts and hats are also available each year to help raise money.

Golf Tournament
Held in September of each year, the APD hosts a golf tournament to benefit the Special Olympics.

Cop on Top
Each year we hold a Cop on Top event at out local Chick-fil-a. We spend two days on top of the Chick-fil-a to raise money.

Polar Plunge
We dive into icy cold water at a local pool to take the Polar Plunge challenge.

Tip a Cop
We partner with Red Robin to help serve customers and all our tips go to Special Olympics.
